In this major, individuals are taught how to effectively identify, instruct and assess students with learning disabilities. They are taught concepts and approaches to design an environment that play significant role in encouraging and enhancing learning capabilities of such students. Individuals are given comprehensive knowledge so they can analyze and examine student’s different behavior while reading, writing and learning mathematical skills. In this major, individuals are also taught effective teaching methods, strategies and proper use of technology in helping students to overcome their learning disabilities.
In learning disabilities Online Program individuals are given opportunities to understand and discover efficient use of media, resources and material for enhancing learning potential of students with learning disabilities.
The aim of Learning Disabilities Online Program is to well equip individuals with comprehensive knowledge, to help students having learning disabilities to have a successful educational life. Individuals are taught various key strategies to manage student’s learning disability problem and to integrate them into various educational activities.
 Learning Disabilities: Grades K-12 (Special Ed Program) This program incorporates the Council for Exceptional Children standards and the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium standards, and gives you the strategies to make an impact on struggling students who might otherwise give up on learning.  Learning Disabilities: Grades K-12 (Special Ed Program w/opt. Master's) Walden University's College of Education offers state-approved† Special Education Endorsement Programs with an optional M.S. in Education with a specialization in Special Education. For licensed teachers who want to transition into a special education classroom or bring these skills to their current teaching area, our practical, accelerated programs combine the flexibility of online learning with hands-on field experiences. In 9 to 17 months (depending on program choice and individual progress), you can enhance your skills and increase your professional opportunities by fulfilling the requirements needed to teach K–12 students with special needs.
